What is the difference between PP and PET tape?
When choosing the right chamber tape, you can ask yourself the question: PP or PET? What is the difference? The most important factor in choosing PP or PET tape is the application of the tape, as well as what load the tape will be subjected to during shipping.
Some general facts:
PP: Polypropylene tapes are used for lighter applications. In many cases, they are narrower and come in different colors such as white, blue or black. This is the “classic” tape known from bundles of newspapers or pallets.
PET polyethylene terephthalate tapes are in most cases wider and have higher strength / tensile strength. Straps are often green or black and are used for heavier applications such as connecting metal pipes or building materials. In some cases, PET tape is a good alternative to steel tape.
